Hi all!

This thread appears to have been around a while, but I have to report that this problem still exists in KDE 4.3.4. I am having the same issue in both Ubuntu 9.10 and Fedora 12: with Adobe AIR and two applications correctly installed (BBC iPlayer Desktop and TweetDeck), these applications launch and run fine under GNOME 2.28, but in KDE 4, the applications begin to launch and then disappear without opening. From the command line there are no messages that might indicate what is going wrong.

I have tried manually opening kdewalletmanager before launching the applications, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. There is no prompt for kdewallet, so no sign that kdewallet is where the problem is.

I am finding some reports that people have Adobe AIR working under KDE 4 in other distros, but I have the same problem on both the distros I use. Any idea what the secret is?

Thanks again to all for your help or any insights!

Could you try the steps mentioned in this KB: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/492/cpsid_49267.html

And check if it works.
