Hi,
I've bought a new HD, and I'm wondering with all the new Filesystems, which one should I choose? I have usesd reiser4 in the past, but even though I had no file corruption issues with it, it was a pain in the but to patch the kernerls and when it became obvious that inclusion wasn't around the corner I said **** it and went ext3. I've heard all this cool things about btrfs so i'm thinking of going ext4->btrfs when its disk format is finished, but then again there is jfs or xfs which were very good also. So, your tips/thoughts? Thanks for your time. Ppop

my understanding is that the newest releases of most distros (Fedora, Mandriva and Ubuntu and I'm sure others) have ext4 built into the kernel (as it's now there in the 2.6.30 series) though not sure it's the default fs. And if you are using opensSuse (like me) you could go from ext3 to 4 when 11.2 ships as there's an in place upgrade path
