i have some strange problem !!
when i try to boot any live distro have KDE by default for some reason it didn't !
no error code but show me something like "failed loading K Desktop Environment"
i have tried many distributions like Kubuntu , PCLOS , Mandriva !
but the gonme versions works good !
i don't know if anyone can help me in this

till now only slax runs without any problems which think it uses KDEE 3.5

I think Kubuntu 8.4 used KDE 3.5.... the others use KDE 4.x I believe. Can you please provide the full error message, which usually contains information on why KDE failed to load?

ok i've tried Kubuntu 8.4 now and the error message is


udevd-event[1510]: run_program: '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit

That appears to be a severe problem with the distribution in use, and is not related to KDE. Please contact your distribution for assistance.

I'm having the same problem with Ubuntu in all flavors, using graphic safe mode usually does the trick.
So yes, it's not KDE related.
