I tried Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE4, but it was very slow. And there is a lot of bugs.

Well, KDE4 on Hardy was never ment to be a primary solution, more sort of a testing ground, a preview of what we now know as Intrepid Ibex 8.10. Kubuntu Ibex, however, is something different: It is optimised for KDE4, so no surprise that it works much, much better..... (Though, still not the way I want it to work, but that's me )

Yeah! I can't await to switch to the Ibex than... Would you recommend to do this already now if I'm not bothered by small bugs? )

I think sidux will be the best KDE4 distribution once lenny becomes stable and the kde4-packages will hit sid :shade:

Well, sorry for the non-english conversation...

Hint: It's considered impolite to use other languages than English in an English forum like this one, because only a minority will then understand what you're saying. |

I run Debian with the KDE 4 backports for Lenny and some packages from experimental.
I tried Kubuntu 8.10, but Ubuntu is too unstable for my tastes, because of its heavy focus on incorporating new stuff and the relatively short release cycles. The downside of it is that I might need to wait a little bit longer for KDE 4.2 - although the backports and experimental are quite on top of things.

I'm currently using OpenSuse 11 and KDE 4.0 looks just gorgeous. I had some Nvidia issues but nothing unsolvable. So IMHO OpenSuse 11 is the best KDE4 distro. One thing I want is Vim support in Kate. That would be sooo damn ***** Great!

I'd like to cast my vote for Gentoo. Especially with Portage 2.2's sets feature, I can choose exactly how bulky a system I want. Flawless compiling. Useflags for maximum customisability.
Awesome. Pure awesome.
One thing I want is Vim support in Kate. That would be sooo damn ***** Great!
+1! Yes. It'll be epically awesome.
