Icons in wrong order

Sun Sep 06, 2009 2:04 pm
Hey everybody. I'm sort of a noob at Linux/Kubuntu. I been fooling around with it for a few months and learned a little bit but I'm by no means proficient at it. I got a question or two though.

I've got icons on my kicker but they're in the wrong order. The KDE application launcher is on the right instead of the left where it should be and I can't get it to move. How do I solve this?

Another thing, I have tried everything I know to install Adobe Flash Player 10 for Linux. I've downloaded the thing about ten times but I just can't get it to install. I'm trying to use Ark to unpack and install it. Am I using the wrong thing? Can somebody help me out here? Thanks a lot!

Which KDE version do you use? You say Kicker, so that makes me believe it's 3.5.x. But if it's KDE4 (which comes with Kubuntu by default) you do it like this:
Image
Move widget in panel

(Mwha, can't miss a chance to spread these).

Make sure you Unlock your widgets first if they're locked. It works in a similar way in KDE 3.5.x, but there you have small "handles" that you can drag (when you've unlocked the panel).

Regarding Flash, which version of Kubuntu do you use? There's a guide for Ubuntu here, it should work in a similar way in Kubuntu (except maybe for the Package Installer application. If your web browser doesn't suggest a default application, try to download the .deb file and open it from e.g. Dolphin).

Its the newest version that is out whatever that is. I'm getting ready to try it now and see if it works. Thanks for the advice.
