Hey all.

Wanted to try out a new repo; added it to the sources tool, went to konsole; apt-get update...and this is what I got back.

dan@dan-laptop:~$ apt-get update
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (13 Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the list directory



I've no idea what to do.

You need root priviliege, i.e. run it with sudo.
