Hi all, it's been 2 years that I am on a GNU / Linux, I often juggle between Kubuntu, Mandriva, OpenSuse, but only veiled, reinstall the system every 6 months is quite annoying to strength, and then always wait for the next release to have a KDE update ...
So, I thought why not change the distribution, a distribution where I do not need to reinstall every 6 months, which is frequently updated, and is a good development platform. I have two distributions in mind for the moment: ArchLinux, Debian Sid but... which to choose? I would appreciate your help on the subject, user reviews to find out which is more up to date and does not hesitate to put beta in the deposits (according to my research debian seems better supplied software level and archlinux not hesitate to include in its beta deposits) Thank you in advance for your help. Ps: This is not a troll topic but just a cry for help and sorry for my poor english, i'm french

I wouldn't choose Sid for a production machine. It is, after all, Debian's unstable branch. It can work great, but there's always the risk that something breaks thanks to its volatile nature (or that things can't be installed because all dependencies haven't been updated yet). It also probably means that even if everything works as it should at all times that you will have to download updates on a more frequent basis.
Still, if you want to try Sid, Sidux is also an option.

If you want a distro with a rolling release system, Arch is a very nice choice. It's quite bleeding edge, but I haven't had any major problems after updating (there are some problems with newer Xorg versions, but I think most modern distros have these problems). Just make sure to read the announcements before upgrading. AUR is very nice for stuff like amarok-git. I haven't used Debian, so I can't really compare. If you're interested in Arch, you should check the wiki. The Beginners Guide is a good start. I see that you've mostly used graphical distros - Arch is very different. There's a KDE live CD based on Arch called Chakra, but it's still alpha.
