New to forum and know sod all about bluetooth, so sorry for any rubbish.

Seem to have got mobile phone and computer connected with bluetooth dongle. But can't do anything with it:

Hovering mouse pointer over bluetooth kbluetooth icon in system tray, is it called, gives "No Bluetooth Adaptor". (It is plugged in and the phone seems to know about it and it about the phone.) Right clicking on icon gives all greyed out except help and quit. Left clicking gives konqueror with a box "Protocol not supported bluetooth".

Errr, sorry got these at some points but forgotten the contexts, they may have stopped happening:
Code: Select all
lugo@fido:~$ kfmclient(6696): Session bus not found
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:996:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Launched ok, pid = 6701
How do I get kbluetooth to see USB bluetooth adapter, and how get konqueror to see the phone (put in 'bluetooth:///' but got "Protocol not supported bluetooth").

Thanks any help.

You may need to install the latest version of KBluetooth, which will probably require using the backports repo of your distribution.

Great thanks. Current thing is: kdebluetooth_1.0~beta8-5_amd64.deb

I'm using a backport, here's the first line in my /etc/apt/sources.list file:
Code: Select all
# taken from testing. created according to backports.org description
deb http://www.debian-desktop.org/pub/linux/debian/kde43 lenny-backports main contrib non-free
deb-src http://www.debian-desktop.org/pub/linux/debian/kde43 lenny-backports main contrib non-free
The kbluetooth thing did work before, the choices were not greyed out, but bluetooth did not work. I'm wondering if I have not installed a program I should? Any other way of getting the phone on bluetooth, want to use computer keyboard to type in text messages?

Hmm... the latest version of KBluetooth in svn is 0.4... I would suggest contacting the Debian packager for kbluetooth.
