I kicked Dolphin from user account using kdesu, but when I try to access some of the system file like syslog, it got rejected. This is how I execute it:
Code: Select all
kdesu dolphin

But got the following error when try to open syslog:
Code: Select all
KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/kwrite

Why is that?

This is a known bug, caused by the inability to contact KLauncher in the root session due to being unable to setup the D-Bus session bus properly.

Please try doing the following instead: first "su -" to root, then run "dolphin"
