my KDE have crashed, I have opensuse 11:2 . The problem started when I tryed to fix the sound in firefox. I found a fix on forum that told me to do away with audiopulse and install esound. I´m a beginer of using linux and something faild and all KDE went down, there were only a very simpel desktop. Downloaded opensuse 11:2 with zypper and the desktop was bether but most of KDE is gone. when I try to install KDE again it fails, saying something about root......
please, help me

Please ensure that all packages updated successfully, and that you have installed "kdebase4-workspace"

well, I have tried to download KDE workspace but there no program to open with, its seem to disappaer. most of KDE programs are gone, no dolphin, conqueror, burningprogram etc. If I now how to wright correct command with zypper it would help.

when I starting the software manager it stops and says- [|] Repository type can't be determined.
have also tried one click download......

The problems with your system appear to affect zypper ( your package manager ) also. I would recommend asking on your distributions forums as they will likely have the required knowledge to determine the problem you are experiencing with zypper.

Your problem with KDE can likely not be resolved until you sort out zypper.

have realised that all programs that opensuse 11:2 contains is activated, that means that also gnome is activated, so this must be reason why the computer says that it can't find any achive, it also tells me to close yast2. I dont know how to handle this but I will try to close gnome whit the software manager

If you have the update manager running try closing it...

eureka! my 11.2 is back. Downloaded KDE from opensuse downloadpage, burned it and put it in the computer.....
still, have no sound when visiting www.sverigesradio.se or www.svt.se
now I want to install KDE 4.5, maybe trying 1-click installation.

For svt.se, you will need to install Flash Player.

For sverigesradio.se, you need to install the web browser plugin for a player such as VLC.
