Hi,
on my computer (Mandriva Linux 2010.0/2010.1) the sessions/ directory for KDM is in :
/usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions

I would know whether this is a distribution specific feature or whether the KDM sessions/ directory is localized in this same place in the file system throughout all Linux distributions.
Thanks.

So there seems to be no standard.

Makes system programming desperate...

Upstream KDE defines that the session directory should be $PREFIX/share/apps/kdm/sessions, where $PREFIX is the installation prefix, usually /usr. Some distributions however disagree with this placement however, and modify their packages to use a kde4/ sub-directory instead: $PREFIX/share/apps/kde4/kdm/sessions.

I do not know why they do this however. As far as I have seen though, these are the only two variants I have seen. KDE Upstream itself does not use $PREFIX/share/apps/kde4/
