C# in Kubuntu

Sat Mar 05, 2011 5:05 am
Hi I am trying to learn C#, and I succeeded in it to program under monodevelop in Kubuntu, only thing is, is that I want to use KDevelop, Since there are only templates for C++ and PHP in Kdevelop, I was wondering if there is software needed to be installed in order to have templates to program C# in kdevelop.

Thanks in advance, Frank

No, we currently don't have templates for C# apps. You can however download the kdebindings tarball from kde.org. A lot of examples are included - ranging from very simple ones to complex ones.

KDevelop doesn't have proper C# anyway - you'll only get syntax highlighting.
If you want to use a full-fledged C# IDE, you still have to go with MonoDevelop.
Writing app templates is quite simple, though. So once you got started and have some spare time, feel free to contribute a simple template :) (I believe there are docs on the net on how to create templates).
