crash handler

Sun Apr 03, 2011 11:44 pm
Hi

as new member of this forum I am posting my first question

have installed 10.10 64 bit on a new Asus machine - composing this Q on an Acer running Ubuntu 10.04

initially all went well but after some updates the crash handler is constantly telling me I have a segmentation fault

it is constant and cannot successfully enter password to enable more updates

some research led me to opening a virtual terminal and so updated kde to the new release - did not work

so I need a solution to stop krunner from misbehaving

frustatingly patient - oxymoron?

Which application does the Crash Handler indicate as crashing?

Thank you for your response

I restarted the computer to see the required info

the crashed handler states;
run command interface
18xx+ 210 x reports
signal 11 segmentation fault

after further reading but prior to your reply was considering reinstalling - but await suggestions?

Very unusual... it is usually quite stable. Please ensure all packages are up to date (reinstall not required). Also, can you try to reproduce under a new user?
