Running Fedora14 / KDE.
None of the function keys (F1, F2, F3 ..) neigther combination of function keys with other keys work. It worked before in my Fedora14/KDE and I somehow misconfigured my KDE settings, but have no idea where... the keyboard itself is OK,function keys and combinations of function keys are working properly, as can be see in this test: open an fresh "konsole" and start xev | gawk '/keycode/{if($0!=l)print;l=$0;}' and press various keys, everything fine for F1: state 0x0, keycode 146 (keysym 0xff6a, Help), same_screen YES, for F2: state 0x0, keycode 139 (keysym 0xff65, Undo), same_screen YES, every hint appreciated |

problem solved !
reason was that I (not intentionally) pressed the "Flock" key on my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, this changed the behaviour of the keys .. |

Sorry for posting to the old thread - I'm just so happy I found it... Never knew what FLock on MS Ergo 4000 does until now

Cheers for posting your solution Boto - you helped me solve the mystery why ALT+F2 had stopped working Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000 + probably my fat fingers were the culprits in my case.
