I get the warning "kde detected one or more internal sound devices were removed".
How do I delete ALL the sound devices and get KDE to rebuild the list?
I have NVIDIA #1 and NVIDIA #2 so I'm not surprised KDE is confused.

Whilst outside KDE, please remove /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/libphonon/hardwaredatabase

That didn't work. :-(

I still have:
HDA NVidia, ALC888 Digital (IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output) (not detected anymore)

HDA NVidia #1

HDA NVidia

default

hw:0,0

hw:0,1

The same list as before.

Which Phonon backend are you using, and is Pulseaudio enabled?
