I haven't used KDE in a very long time. Having recently read some good reviews and seen some very snappy scrreenshots, I wanted to give it a try.

I'm running Fedora 15 on a Toshiba netbook. I installed KDE with the following command:

sudo yum -y install kdebase-workspace-4.6.5-2.fc15

This seems to have worked nicely except for one thing - no konsole.
When I click the konsole menu item, I get this error:

KDEInit could not launch 'konsole'.:
Could not find 'konsole' executable.
---

From bash in xterm:
bash: konsole: command not found...

Searching produces no executable:
# sudo find / |grep konsole

Is there another package to install? Was konsole dropped from the project?

Just found the kdebase package.

sudo yum -y install kdebase

Fixed, thanks.

It might be nice if there was a metapackage, kde4, that provided everything.

Packages are the responsibility of your distribution, not much KDE can do to influence them unfortunately.
