Fedora 14 KDE 4.6 Menu

Wed Nov 02, 2011 7:55 pm
OS: Fedora 14 x86
KDE 4.6

Can anyone tell me how to edit the default kmenu so that all users get the menu I want them to have? I am using this server in a multi-user environment and want to control the menu items to handful of specific things of my choosing. Is there an app that I can use to accomplish this? If not, where can I find the specific files I need to edit. Thanks for your help!

Not that I know beforehand if it would do precisely what you are after, but do you think kmenuedit would work?

don't think there's an easy way but found an article that addresses this directly http://humanreadable.nfshost.com/howtos/kde-menus.htm

Wasn't 100% I don't think but I am going to give it a try as I think it points me in the right direction. Thanks for the replies.

What if you change the users' ~/.local/share/applications folder to a read only symbolic link to a server folder populated with your selected apps
