We are pathetically stuck using KDE v3.5 on RHEL5 into the foreseeable future.
I would like to add a command to the Actions Menu of the Login Dialog Box. Is there a way to do that? I did a lot of looking on the kde.org site, but found nothing about this for version 3.5. Background: The action I want to add is one that changes the display configuration in /etc/X11/xorg.conf and restarts the X server. Our current method first requires a user to login to run a script that changes the xorg.conf file, then logout again for an X server restart, then logs in a second time. I'm trying to avoid excessive logins, by allowing us to make the xorg.conf change and Xserver restart without a user login. Any ideas? Mark |

I'm not sure if this menu isn't hardcoded in kdm's code :/ I would suggest using something like scripted xmessage to place additional button somewhere on screen, which would run this action. Maybe it's a lame idea, but the fastest to implement
The cleanest method would be to get srpm of kdm, add acction to menu (running shellscript would be easy), build rpm and install it.
