Hello !

I'm using the latest KDE4.
For some reason I can't logoff/restart/shudown via GUI.
It just doesn't respond to it and keep working like nothing happened.

All I can do is "sudo shutdown -r now" on cli.

Thanks
Maxim.

What distribution are you using? What is the exact version number of your KDE packages?

I'm using Ubuntu 10.11 64-bit and the latest KDE4 packages there were released to Ubuntu a few days ago (4.7.4) .

Nevermind, it seems to work fine now.

I was about to post that I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and it seemed to fix itself ... must be some KDE magic!

From what I recall KDE's ability to shutdown the system depends on it's ability to contact KDM. If it cannot contact KDM then only Logout will be offered as a possible option.
