Hi
I've just installed Ubuntu 11.04 and (among other things) KDevelop 4.2.2. I noticed a problem with it: at least on my computer the KDevelop tooltips are near unreadable: the text is just a notch brighter than the (black) backgroud. Very annoying, and the only application with this behaviour. Please note that this does not occur with the editor (Kate?) tooltips - they have a white background and multicoloured text. Can this be customised somehow? I've looked at resouces I could find, but found no mention of colours: (~/.kde/share/config/kdeveloprc, ~/.kde/share/apps/kdevelop/katepartui.rc, /usr/share/kde4/config/kdeveloprc, /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdevelop/kdevelop.notifyrc) Maybe the developers have to fix it ... thanks!!! - Bernt |

Can you provide a screenshot please? Also, try to reproduce under a new user, testing with both the default and customised colour settings.
Note that KDevelop may need a restart to fully pickup the colour changes.

Thanks bcooksley!
A new user would be pretty pointless I'm afraid, since my user was created this very morning, and I've fiddled with nothing..! What I have is the defaults. A screenshot would be nice, too, but my only option here is to store it somewhere and supply a URL... Sorry. I could of course email you, but have no address. In any case, an easy solution for me was to give KDevelop a toss and install Qtcreator instead. My short-term aim was to simply make a little program I have made run natively under Linux! - Bernt |

Screenshots can be uploaded to sites such as Imagebin, Imageshack, etc.

fyi -the proper protocol is to place the image links in the post: http://imagebin.org/158045 an image of the image can be placed in the post using
further the image can be set to also act a ink to the actual image on the hosted site

You're right - I should have thought about that. But please bear with me - I'm currently recovering from a fairly major traffic incident, so my head isn't quite there! Thanks for the hints! - Bernt |

That looks very unusual. Assuming you are using the default colour scheme, then please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org.

Not solved, but my workaround is to simply not use KDevelop!

If you try using other colour schemes (by changing them in System Settings) does this have any impact upon KDevelop? This might be a bug which requires a bug report. KDevelop could be hardcoding the tooltip text colour.

If I change the theme there is no improvement. I have to customise the colors every time and mess other applications tooltips. Kdevelop does not follow the settings as other Gnome or KDE apps.

I've moved this into the KDevelop forum - hopefully they can give you a hand here in getting this working.

Could you please re-upload the image (on another hoster)? It's gone.
In general, try a few KDE widget styles and colour schemes... it should work with most of them! I never had issues with neither bright nor dark schemes. Greetings
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
