hello,
I am no native english, so please excuse my orthography. When I use konqueror (Version 4.6.5 (4.6.5)) under knoppix 6.7.1), and look down in directories (in mode "details" by using the arrow keys) (my image1) and go back, (my image2), the columns (filename, size, date rights, typ of the file) shift to the left. It does not arrive every time and may be related to long filenames. To see the long filenames (which now are cut at right), I need to shift the columns back to the right "by hand", using my mouse. Doing this often is really uncomfortable for me. So please, how can I fix it for readers : sorry I try to learn in the moment, how to upload my 2 images (after I have pressed the Img button) Well, after an hour of searching how to upload my screenphotos I will stop this search. I read in the FAQ, that loading up images may be possible if the administrator allows this. But this does not say to me, whether or not he allows it ! I think my problem could be fixed in ~/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc but I don't know how (for the moment)

fyi - the forum does not host images, images must be posted on an image hosting site and the link to the image is placed in the post. Free image hosting sites include: http://tinypic.com/, http://imageshack.us/, http://simplest-image-hosting.net/, and many others

do you have the same problem if you use Dolphin for file management?

thanks to google01103 -
1. for uploading ... the images - I understand 2. dolphin - I did not try dolphin for long, because dolphin has not all the possibilities, I like to use in konqueror, but I will lock again. Well - I tried with dolphin (choosing appearence "details") - and in my short test (3-4 minutes), it did not happen. That means, the (horizontal) size of each column (filename, size, date, rights ...) does not change, when I navigate into directories (go down into them and up again) - that's what I would get with konqueror too. |

In Konqueror, open Settings > Configure Konqueror > File Management > General > Behaviour. Make sure "Use common view properties for all folders" is selected.

Thank You bcooksley.
This property has been set by me (before I posted my question). So I need to investigate further. Supplement : I don't find a solution inside konqueror, but bcooksley, You are right, dolphin is a good solution thanks a lot |
