I started using KDE several years ago and am now on KDE 4.7 in Ubuntu.
But somehow I never really understood the changes in KDE 4. Example: I've set up 4 virtual desktops. My desktop (or what's now the name of the last layer, visible when you minimize all applications?) is empty. That's ok since I never really likes to use the desktop. But still I wonder about the behaviour. The context menu gives me the options one would expect there, e.g. create a shortcut to something. But if I left click something (be it the empty desktop background, be it a shortcut icon), I get switched to virtual desktop 1. No matter from which virtual desktop I start. Is this normal behaviour? Is there a way I can change this behaviour? |

Hm, that is certainly not default behaviour. A quick and dirty way of getting default behaviour back would be to move ~/.kde(4) to ~/.kde(4).bak and log out and log in again.
You should now have a default KDE session to play around with once more.
