How does it differ from regular KDE plasma workspace when logging in?

i can't for some reason log into the normal or fefault kde desktop without it taking me back to the log in screen. perhaps it has something to do with x.org or something. it needs further investigation

Once in safe mode, have you tried disabling desktop effects then trying to log in normally again?
