Hello, I have strange problems with screen not being refreshed when opening a menu (but not always). The menu gets opened but I can't see it until my mouse cursor gets over it. I'm not sure but it can be connected with Qt raster migration. Here's how it looks like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHznBfIhio0 This record has been done with nouveau drivers but simillar thing occurs with nvidia proprietary driver (in fact I just switched my system to nouveau out of curiosity). Nvidia GeForce 7300GT, newest Archlinux, KDE 4.8.2, nvidia and nouveau drivers, Qt 4.8.1. |

Which one of the Nvidia/Nouveau drivers are you using? As far as I am aware, you can only be using either the proprietary Nvidia driver or the open source Nouveau driver at one time.

I thought it was clear from my post. I've been using nvidia proprietary driver and recently switched to nouveau and made this movie on nouveau but problem occurs on both of them. |

Have you tried disabling / enabling Desktop Effects to see if this makes a difference to the screen refresh?

Thanks for your interest. I turned off composition and for this moment I can't reproduce previously described problems. I'm going to test it for a few days. |

Hi all,
i have the exact same issue of the video, but with: - kde 4.7.4 - video card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Turks [Radeon HD 6670] - xserver-xorg/wheezy uptodate 1:7.6+13 I am also using OpenGL rendering -> glxinfo | grep render ~ direct rendering: Yes OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD TURKS GL_NV_conditional_render, GL_AMD_draw_buffers_blend, Disabling desktop effects/composition would not be the solution. Every help is very appreciated. Angelo |

By 'not be the solution' do you mean this does not fix the problem, or that you need Desktop Effects and so therefore cannot disable them?
