Misaligned centre on all windows.

Sat May 26, 2012 12:30 am
I just upgraded to KDE 4.7.4 and I have discovered that I have misaligned centre on all windows. As a result all my windows top and bottom bars are pushed off to the right far enough that the minimize/maximized and close buttons no longer show. I also notice that no matter what font I use and how small I put it, the window titles are large partly covered and ugly.
Sorry if this has already been talked about as I have not seen it.
I did notice that in upgrading, to solve a conflict issue, some kde-plasma apps were exchanged for other varieties (did not take note as to what was exchanged as it appeared to end up more or less one for one).
If this is just a bug, I will put up with it until it is fixed (have no skill at figuring out problems like this or trying to describe it). If it is a case that there are one or more apps that I should have or a config file needed to be fixed, I would like to know so that I can try and repair any damage that could have been my fault.
Many thanks

Can you please provide a screenshot?
You can customise the elements in the window decoration itself, so you may wish to check that as well. Open System Settings > Workspace Appearance > Window Decorations > Configure Buttons.

Note: in 2nd shot, those buttons on the top right are interpreted as other commands. eg in swiftfox the minimize button changes the page.
On top of that. I have now discovered that all desktop themes have lost all their colour.

Have you tried disabling desktop effects?

Or could it be that you at some stage created an empty panel along the left hand side of the screen?

Many thanks. Cleared up the problems.
