I want to delete the unwanted dictionnaries, to avoid choosing between a very long list.
Now i have 30 variants of english, and when i want to change the dictionnary i have to scroll all the list. Is there a place that they are stored so i can delete the unwanted ? |

My first ports of call in this case would be:
~/.local/ ~/.config/ ~/.*spell/ You might need to recursively search these to find the relevant files.

Does Mageia have a Control centre or similar that allows you to delete packages as well as install them?

I have these packages installed:
[dglent@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa | grep aspell aspell-en-7.1.0-2.mga2 aspell-el-0.50.3-15.mga2 aspell-fr-0.50.3-19.mga2 aspell-debug-0.60.6-12.mga1 aspell-0.60.6.1-2.mga2 lib64aspell-devel-0.60.6.1-2.mga2 lib64aspell15-0.60.6.1-2.mga2 And i have 22 variants of english, 6 variants of french, two variants of greek and hebrew. I have 31 dictionnaries in a small size list and i need only 3 of them (English (one, eg US), French (France), Greek (Greece)) and is difficult every time to scroll the list to find the wanted dictionnary. |

I'm intrigued with the "22 variants of english" as I have only 4 (Eng, US, GB & Can), what and where did these 18 additional come from? are they part of Aspell? What are the contents of the En package?

If you create a new user, how many dictionaries?
are the extra's just duplicates? |

I have just tested and a new user has 31 dictionaries too.
I reported too to mageia bugzilla https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6269, there is another similar bug report but for thunderbird: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6184 |
