Hello
I have just installed Mint Debian 201204 Testing, deleted everything for Gnome and Mate and installed KDE out of the repos. However, I had quite a disappointment when I saw that there is still the version KDE 4.7.4 in the repos, whereas I have in Mint12 KDE already Version 4.8.2. Does anybody have a solution for me to upgrade to the newest version without upsetting my other applications? There is a similar problem with LibreOffice (my so called «rolling release» offers a very old version 3.4.4 instead of the newest stable 3.5.3!!!)

For KDE you could self compile, obviously not the easiest solution. I would guess you're limited as to what's available in Debian Testing because that's what Mint uses (guessing). For issues distro specific you're probably better off posting there.
For LibreOffice you could use the official LibreOffice packages http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?nodetect but some integration/customization will probably be missing |

Hi and thanks.
It's mint testing, not debian testing. However, I have some kubuntu backport ppas here. If I remember right, I had to install these. I will ask in a Debian Forum. For the moment no response necessary (unless someone has the solution). And thanks for the LO-Links, the download is running.
