Hi, I'm using KDE 4.7.2 / openSUSE 12.1 and I cannot start ksmserver (unless I trick startkde to bypass check for errors). Even so I cannot logout
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Pascal |

With reference to post viewtopic.php?f=66&t=19273, I should add that, firstly kdesupport is not available to my distribution and secondly file /usr/share/kde4/services/kded/kdedglobalaccel.desktop is missing.
Is it necessary to install kdesupport and if so how? Pascal |

It appears that both ksmserver and kded4 are both crashing out at the same place.
If you try and run "ksmserver" or "kded4" yourself, does it output anything relevant? I suspect you may have either an incomplete installation or updates which are not fully applied.
