Hi,
I got a small bug with icon only task manager. I use a customized icon theme. When all apps are closed I can see properly the customized icons : ![]() Now with all applications started, the icon have changed for non native KDE apps (chrome/FF/thunderbird). The defaukt application icon is used. ![]() Is that a (known) bug or a pb with my icon theme ?? Am I the only one to have that ? I am running sabayon or arch with same problem (same home dir). |

This is likely because the Task Manager's will prefer the icon set by the application themselves. Because Firefox and Thunderbird are both Gtk/Mozilla applications, they likely do not respect the KDE icon theme - or have their icons hard-coded internally.
KDE applications however always reference the currently active theme for their icon, which is why they respect them.

I know this is a bit late but I just wanted to add this here in case someone else stumbles upon this thread later. Icon-Only Task Manager has a setting under the Appearance section called 'Always use launcher icons' which should keep the icons consistent even after the application is running. Also if the author of the thread sees this; that is a really nice icon set! I'd love to know the name of it.

Bcooksley is right, this bug appears only on Gtk applications. However, you can still force them to use specific icon theme in KDE. Create a file named .gtkrc-2.0 in your home directory and put inside:

Hi,
Very old topics but it is solved as cynical said. There is an option that says always use icon launcher, I checked it and everything when back to normal. I am glad as well you like this icon set , it is oxytablets-dark. Thanks all for your help. |
