powermanagement woes

Wed Jun 27, 2012 1:24 am
Hi,
I have some problems with powerdevil:

1. If I set powerdevil to do something when powerbutton is pressed, I still have that event intercepted by ACPI alongside the action I selected in powerdevil. I.e. I can see the "exit session" popped up by KDE for about a second while the system starts to shutdown, presumably via ACPI.

ConsoleKit is up and running:
Code: Select all
goo@darkgoo:~/$ qdbus --system org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit
/
/org
/org/freedesktop
/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit
/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Manager
/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Seat1
/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Session1

2. The script specified to run when the profile is loaded does not work and never worked since the 4.6 days. Don't know if it ever worked before.
I filed a bug some time ago but it is still unconfirmed https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299073. My questions are: Does anyone have this function working? If not, wouldn't be better to hide that function at least for stable releases?

The ACPI event you are referring to is likely triggered by the init system on your distribution. This is usually referred to as the poweroff event. You will need to consult your distributions documentation for that.

As for the script profile bug, I will investigate further for that issue.
