Good day!
I've red an article http://humanreadable.nfshost.com/journa ... 11-008.htm, done all recommendations, but tooltips in apps (tooltips displayed while cursor hovered on buttons and tabs) did not disabled. Please prompt me how disable tooltip in all apps (http://s1.ipicture.ru/uploads/20120706/lhk6SFdy.png). kde 4.8.4, theme oxygen-transparent. |

These are Qt4 hardcoded tooltips. It seems that they can be disabled only by recompiling Qt with corresponding flag. If you are using source-based distribution try to add "-DQT_NO_TOOLTIP" to the "DEFINES" section of src/gui/Makefile in Qt code.
Remember that this change can take effect on Qt-only applications. It does nothing e.g., for Firefox or GIMP. |

Thank you for your reply. happily Firefox has its own setting to disable tooltips (about:config: browser.chrome.toolbar_tips set to false) but I use Kubuntu and have no expirience to patch sources. may be there is a ppa with patched kde?

Very unlikely. This is a really special wish, which is also likely to be unsuitable for most users, and I don't think anyone has packaged something like that.
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
