Hi Everyone ,
![]() Today I had to leave my computer for few Minutes then I back to it & I found the screen was lock. when I try to unlock it , I was annoyed with simple dialog with Black Screen. Here is Picture : http://store3.up-00.com/July12/7WF71119.png (I know nothing to see in the picture ![]() I mean we cloud have better then that. we could show the current Desktop wallpaper instead of black screen , a top Panel with basic stuff ( clock , battery indicator , sound, leave options ... etc), also QML port for unlock screen dialog will give even more nice looking. |

QML'fying the unlock dialog is in the feature plan for 4.10: http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/ ... -workspace
Actually, it already (partially) works (it is used in Plasma Active). We still need to do the password checking part and create a QML theme for Plasma Desktop.

Hi lamarque ,
Good to hear that, QML porting is really appreciated, But QML dialog with Black screen won't fit. I hope if there is plan to support showing Current Wallpaper instead of Black Screen. Greatings ![]() |

I prefer to use a generic wallpaper like Plasma Active do:
![]() Exposing anything from the locked session is not good for security.

Hi ,
well I really agree with privacy & security with Exposing everything but we can have little things like date, time, mute the sound. For wallpaper, I prefer to show Desktop wallpaper unless we consider as privacy leak which isn't the case. Also DW is more consistent since change generic wallpaper could be little bit wired and the wallpapers get outdated over time. In the other hand stock with desktop wallpaper will avoid providing additional KCMs & is more logical to the user. |
