Hi there,

I previously used Opensuse 11.4 and KDMs "Remote Login (ALT+R)" at the Greeter. That really made life easy for me.

Now we switched to Kubuntu 12.04 Precise where this KDM feature does not work, Symptoms:
  • after hitting ALT+R, the XDMCP Host List shows up, list is filled with detected hosts, but windows is "frozen" (i.e. no tabbing through the buttons or ALT+ing to get into Menus or so)
  • as soon as I move the pointer over the dialog (or just move, if it happend to be on it already), the window just disappears and the Login Screen comes back up (without Xserver restart)
  • /var/log/kdm.log

  • The ibus warning doesn't seem to be the problem, as the first entry is from "normal" startup and only the second one from ALT+R.

Is it a KDE version thing, a Kubuntu thing, just some lacking config? Ideas?

This states, that it should work in KDE 4.8.4 ... but thats exactly what comes with Kubuntu 12.04.

Strange...

If you use the mouse option instead of the keyboard shortcut, does that function properly?
