Hi guys,
once again, I need your help ![]() On my laptop when I have two or more windows of the same type (e.g Konsole) when I click on the task manager icon I don't get the effect that I get on my desktop. On my desktop I get a nice animation where the desktop is darkened and the windows are presented side by side, while on my laptop I get a very annoying drop down menu which confuses me as I can never find what I want. Where do I need to go to enable this effect or check what's wrong? When I press ctrl + F10, all the open windows are presented so I guess I do have desktop effects. Your help is greatly appreciated! thanks |

What distribution are you using? I tried briefly looking through the options but I couldn't find exactly what you were mentioning. Do you mean that on any grouped task, clicking will pop up present windows?

Do you use the Icon-Only task manager?

No, I'm using the normal task manager. I looked again in the desktop effects and couldn't find any relevant configuration options. Am I missing something? You do understand what I mean right? When same tasks are grouped together (eg. Konsole or chrome) when I click on them they are presented side by side on the desktop. However on my laptop I get a simple drop down menu |

Can you try to get a screenshot of the effect? Just to make sure everyone understands better what you're getting.

I had no access to my desktop that's why it took me so long to reply... However, I managed to reproduce the effect (although by accident) by using the icon-only task manager. The top panel is an icon only task manager as you can see (which I added just for showing you, it's not there normally). So I have 3 konsole windows minimized as you can see. If I click on the icon at the icon only task manager, I get the effect shown in screenshot1: ![]() Now, look at screenshot 2... at the bottom I have my usual panel with the normal task manager. If I click there, I get a drop down menu instead which I hate as I can never figure out which window I wanted to get back, unless I click all three of them. screenshot2: ![]() any ideas cause I have no clue what it could be? ![]() |

I'll try to ping one of the developers to respond here as I really don't know where to enable such an effect for the task manager.

Just like I said earlier, the weird thing is that my desktop pc does that by default. Same exact panel, same exact 'default' task manager. |
