I click 'Add Widgets', a buffet pf wodgets appears, then what? I can't drag them onto the desktop (slashed 'No' circle), click and doubleclicking has no effect. How is a newbie supposed to get to step 1?

If I lock Widgets and unlock them again, I no longedr get the slashed circle when I try to drag-drop them on the desktop, but they don't drip, i.e., they don't appear and I can't use them.
Obviously this newbie is missing something obvious. Please begin explanation from Step 0. |

III have a row of my favorite application on the bottom of my desktop, just aboe the taskbar. I got these bny right-clicking the apps in the application menu and choosing "Add to desktop. Clicking, double-clicking, etc. does nothing except open a wide blank space on either side of the icon in question. Aren't they supposed to oipen the app or something like that? |

Can add widgets to http://www.dailykos.com/anel (have been calling it 'Taskbar'), but can't get some to work. I ned an alarm clock, and even thogh it thinks it's 'enabled', KDE thinks it's stopped, and it doesn't go off when set.

Are you using Folder View or Default Desktop as your Desktop Layout? (Configured by right clicking on a empty region of the desktop > Settings).
KDE Sysadmin
