If I enter pm-suspend as root, my computer goes to sleeps and resumes fine. But if I select sleep from the kicker menu, my computer goes to sleep but when resuming it gets stuck, computer freezes (no network response), monitor never initializes.

This just started happening a few days ago, not sure why. I first thought an update must of affected a module, but when I tried sleeping as root through console it worked fine. Then I was thinking a permissions issue, but it goes to sleep just fine.

It looks like an issue lower in the stack to me, likely some permission problem.

You may want to ask in the Arch Linux forums first, as it looks like a distribution issue to me.
