I would like to change the color of the default KDE windows I see everywhere (changed OS recently to Linux Mint 13 maya KDE version, upgraded to 4.9.2)
In Dolphin, Firefox, Konsole etcetera I see a blue top panel that doesn't appeal to me at all - I'm one of those rare folks that loved the brownish ubuntu stuff 8)
I've googled for this and looked in many places on the pc, but don't see where I can change this.
I thought it should be in Window Decorations - System Settings, but it's not there either.

I am guessing you are referring to the window decoration (which has the controls for minimizing and closing windows)?
This would be controlled by the colour scheme currently in use. This can be configured at Application Appearance > Colours.
I've checked the sources, and it appears to use the "Window" series of colours.

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. But there's no colour choice.
I can choose between 4 "configure the look and feel of window titles" and there's even a "get new decorations" button, but nowhere to choose colour.
Like if I want eg the "Plastik" look because I prefer it's upper right click boxes for maxi/minimize, then I'm stuck with blue.
"Oxygen" will be in a gery colour, but with click boxes I don't like.
It's rather a trivial thing, but I have to look at it all the time :-\
I might as well have it the way I find attractive.
Thanks for your help btw :)

Have you tried changing the Window colours as I mentioned in the previous post?

As in "This can be configured at Application Appearance > Colours"?
Of course I've looked for it, but don't see it anywhere, as I tried to explain in my last reply...
Ah, but now before hitting "submit" I entered "colours" in the Search, and up came Colors - KDE Control Module 8)
Wow, I'm on Wonton Soup now and love it :)
Strange though I had to type in search to find this; I looked everywhere before a dozen times and never found this.
KDE has a lot of lanes, streets and alleys to explore.
Thanks for the aid, bcooksley :)

The Colours module should be in Application Appearance in System Settings.
I'm guessing the window decoration colour issue is now solved?

Yes, thank you. Meanwhile I have found the Colors module. Marked as Solved :)
