I have updated from kde 4.9.1 to 4.9.2 yesterday but hit a problem with the device notifier. My sysyem boots from a floppy disc (which handles Grub 1 Stage 1) and the device notifier throws up a message (like you would get if you put a usb pen) asking me what I would like to do with the floppy disc (open dolphin etc). I can switch off device notifier to stop it discoverinng the floppy disc every time but I would then miss the many usual functions of device notifier and can't find a setting to tell device notifier to ignore the floppy disc but carry on carrying out it's normal functions.
I am using Opensuse 12.2 64 bit version. Any guidance very welcome. Thanks |

The device notifier only responds to what it sees in the underlying system. IIRC there was a right click option to "forget" about some devices, but I'm not sure it went through when it was rewritten in QML. Try seeing if that's the case.
In case there isn't, the idea would be to tell udisks or HAL (depending on which of the two you're using) to ignore the disk: if it's not handled by them, the device notifier will not display it.

Thanks very much. Opensuse has switched to udev.
I found the option for device notifier to ignore the FD0. Thanks |
