Hello!

After a very bumpy upgrade (this upgrade option should really not be offered to any kde user) my lightdm does not login to kde. I.e. at first lightdm-kde-greeter does not start. After I start it by hand it does not do anything except to change the font of the login button to bold face. How can I configure lightdm-kde-greeter? The entry in the systemsettings does not seem to do anything (If I change the configuration it seemingly does not propagate to lightdm).

I tried to return to good old kdm with
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install kdm

but it fails with
Code: Select all
kdm : depends on libkworkspace4abi2 (= 4:4.9.2-0ubuntu2.1) but 4:4.9.3-0ubuntu1~ubuntu12.04.1~ppa3
depends on: kde-workspace-kgreet-plugins (= 4:4.9.2-0ubuntu2.1) but 4:4.9.3-0ubuntu1~ubuntu12.04.1~ppa3

Thanks in advance!

It was a combination of different issues. I had to reinstall several packages including the graphics driver. Then I had to change in
Code: Select all
lightdm.conf

Code: Select all
greeter-session=lightdm-kde-greeter
. Now lightdm is working, but it was not easy.
