Hi everyone,
can someone help me out troubleshoot this weird behaviour for my pop-ups? The outlines are just so ugly, it's annoying! I'm on kde 4.9.97 here's some screenshots to explain better https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l3zzn230kq5fgl8/CipYOuMV9t thank you,

Do you run without compositing? (Which I assume you do, from your screenshots)

Actually I am. I am using the latest nvidia (proprietary) drivers and I'm using opengl/raster/smooth. I tried starting a new fresh session by renaming my .kde folder and the new session doesn't do that (again with the same effect settings, opengl/raster/smooth.) ideas? |

The problem is with the theme you're using - it doesn't have the opacity mask layer, so plasma/kwin don't know that that part should be transparent and that it should not have the blurred background on it.

You were right... it was the desktop theme
![]() Unfortunately I really, really, liked that particular theme (fushigi and Tibanna are the only two I've been using in a while). Also I've downloaded about 10 more themes from the get new themes page and about 90% have the same problem. Only well established themes like air and aya seem to not have that issue. Is there anything I can do to change it that behavior for the theme to make that part transparent or disable the shaded outline all together? thank you all for your replies |

The best course of action is to contact the theme author.
If that doesn't help, you can either change it yourself, or disable the blur effect. |
