I have this really weird mouse focus problem, which might or might not be KDE related. I don't know. But I got help here often so I'll just try. I don't even know to debug it or at least describe it properly...
First my system: Fedora 18 KDE SC 4.9.5 Second Description: It's some weird focus problem, where the mouse stays focused on one window. I can use the keyboard normally and switch windows via Window Switcher. But the newly focused windows doesn't accept any mouse inputs. Instead most mouse input is relayed to the first application (left click, scroll). A restart of kwin (--replace) does solve the problem for one non KDE program. I can use then LibreOffice for example, but only if it was focused via Windows Switcher (but sometimes it behaves a little different). Interestingly the focus of scrolling and left clicking can always be relayed to firefox, but not back to LibreOffice. However none of these programs accept a right click. Dolphin on the other side interprets every left click as a right click. A restart of kwin let's me click one time normally in a KDE programm. Maybe it's related to KDED? Sometimes shortcuts stop working. Mouse gesture also stop working. Plasma restart also doesn't help. Third: When does it occur After some time being logged into KDE the behavior starts, every time. Logging out of my account and back into though fixes it (no big deal but annoying if you're skyping which happend to me today) Four: What I want Help me diagnose this problem. I didn't found anything in the usual places (Xorg.0.log, messages, .xsession-errors). Only stuff that is always there. I want to get rid of it. I can live with most linux problems/bugs I had until now, because I could always diagnose them and often fix them within second by restarting some stuff. This one really annoys me as I don't even have a clue where to start. Greeting Christian

I'm not sure it is a KDE problem. Looks like a X issue in general. If you have an alternative (even minimal) environment, can you test? Check also if this behavior occurs with another user account (unlikely to change, from your description, but worth a shot).

I'm gonna try that. In most it needs some time occur, sometimes a day or so (heavy user of suspend to disc). Being productive is without my account/kde is a little hard for me, so I'll try that when I have a little free time.

One thing that may also be worth checking is your focus stealing and focus policy. I usually use "Low" and "Click to Focus" respectively.
