I had a very unpleasant experience today. Far more, the program now does not even accept the keyboard, despite me typing the passwort while starting.
Here is the content of the console for the dist-upgrade:
Why the hell should Gimp be uninstalled? A few symptoms: · Keyboard is not working (however it did for the password at starting). · Windows can not be resized. · There is no possibility for more than 1 virtual desktop, when i up the number and click to accept, it falls back to 1 desktop. · a lot more problems This is on my Kubuntu 12.04 installation, luckily I have a 12.10 installation too, but it is in different parts broken, so I use the 12.04 while waiting for the 13.04. I have all my desktop effects and windows decorations off, I do not need these gadgets. How can I go as soon as possible back to KDE 4.9.x? This is not really a good working atmosphere now.

Hello
I got it fixed somehow. Entered a recovery console and was asked to perform a -f. Then the computer downloaded nearly 1000 files and miraculously, out of Kubuntu 12.04 became 12.10 ... Completely against what I wanted. But I can live with it, as all major programs work perfect.

I suspect the reason why your KDE 4.10 upgrade resulted in a upgrade to Kubuntu 12.10 was due to the incorrect sources being in /etc/apt/sources.list.
