Hello, I am 4.8 user. I don't know why, my KDE always showing dialog contains:
The desktop entry of type none is unknown. It is easy but annoying. Can someone give me advice how to fix it? Thank you ![]() |

doe this only happen at startup or at random times during your session?
try running the following in krunner
if at startup look at your autostart entries systemsettings -> startup & shutdown-> autostart, one of the "Desktop File" entries may be missing a type= entry in the ___________.desktop file |

Only at startup.

since there are only 2 apps enabled try disabling them and then restarting KDE, if the dialog doesn't appear then one of them is your problem

I've remove the 2 things, but the error diaog still appear at startup. I don't know, but few days ago I've deleted one item in the Autoruns. I forgot what. Is there any other solution? Thank you for answering me.

so you think removing something a few days ago in autorun caused it?
you ran kbuildsycoca --noincremental ? are you starting KDE with a restored or an empty session? |

no, you need to create and login as a new user to determine if it's a system wise or a single user issue |

Please check ~/.kde4/Autostart and ~/.config/autostart for invalid *.desktop files.
Also, try clearing the content of ~/.kde4/share/config/session/ outside KDE. Please note that your session prior to logout, including any running applications will not be restored if you do this (you will get a new session). None of your application settings or data will be affected though.
