How to emulate “NumPadEnter” key?

Sat Mar 02, 2013 10:34 am
My notebook haven't got num block (is's possible to type num block digits via `Fn`+something combination, but there's no such thing for `NumPadEnter), how can I emulate that `NumPadEnter` press? Freshest KDE4, Archlinux. Actually, I need to press `F1`, type `exit`, press num block `7` and `NumPadEnter`. So it would be good to make a shortcut for the whole combination, too.

You could try using xte from the xautomation package. Something like (haven't tested this)
Code: Select all
xte 'key F1' 'key e' 'key x' 'key i' 'key t' 'key KP_7' 'key KP_Enter'

I wrote a bit about it here under the section "Emulate key presses".
