I'm using Manjaro KDE. I'm loving being able to adjust volumes for individual apps but was wondering how to adjust something like skype or kopete where the notifications sounds are so brief. They show up and disappear from KMix before you've had a chance to react. Suggestions?

As a side note? Would one of the moderators mind adding Manjaro to the list of OS's available under Profile. Thanks.

Applications such as Kopete and Skype should be classifying their notification sounds as "System Notifications" so they should fall under that static category, which should always be present.

This is particularly the case in Kopete, which uses KDE notification systems.

With regards to adding Manjaro to the list of distributions - we can do that. Do you have a link to their website and a image of their logo (preferrably in a 16x16 size, which will simplify adding it otherwise we will need to resize it).

Manjaro's website is http://manjaro.org/ and the icon resized to 15x16 is http://i.imgur.com/CAZQo0w.png

Ok, problem sort of solved. Skype and Kopete are indeed controlled by "Event Sounds". Jitsi on the other hand is not. It shows up as a very brief individual sound event that is impossible to catch in the process. I don't use it all that often and can work around it. Thanks

Edit: How do I mark this Solved? It's probably obvious but I'm just not seeing it . . .

I've moved the topic to the Workspace forum now - it was in the Tutorial & Tips forum for some reason.
I'll add Manjaro to the list of distributions shortly.

Thanks bcooksley.

Is it possible for me to add the checkmark indicating Solved or is that something an admin has to do?

Posts in the Tutorial & Tips forum cannot be marked as solved (as the functionality does not make sense there).
When I moved the post to the Workspace forum, the mark as solved functionality became available for this topic - you should be able to change it if you wish.

Note that only the original poster and the forum staff can mark posts as solved.

ah . . . wasn't aware of that restriction in the Tips & Tutorials section. I'll know for next time. Thank you.
