Launcher menu is too sensitive with opening submenus

Is there a configuration option to increase the delay in which a launcher menu submenu opens?

I seem to recall there was such an option in Qt3 but needed manual editing of the user's kstylerc file.

I'm using the classic menu. When I move the mouse pointer horizontally to open a submenu, often my mind subconsiously knows I need to move up or down in the submenu to select the desired item. Typically I'll start inadvertently moving the mouse pointer up or down, which just as often as not, means I'm actually moving the mouse pointer up and down the parent menu rather than the submenu. When I do that then the desired submenu closes and a different submenu opens.

The only work-around I found is to move the mouse pointer in a slow and rigid 90 degree manner, which is unnatural.

If there was a delay control then submenus would not open as fast and would allow for some "slop" in the way the mouse pointer moves up and down in the parent menu.

I have tried several times to use the kickoff style menu but I haven't been able to adjust.

Thanks. :)
