Hello
I am running archlinux and have just upgraded to KDE 4.10.2-2 which broke my activities. Activities start up fine and i can even switch to different activity but then kactivitmanagerd crashes. This happens always since upgrade. Anybody have similar problems? I have attached an output from gdb.

2 (or so) things to try
1) is it your config? test by creating a new user and then test activities in the new account 2) with your KDE session not running clear the KDE cache and temp files - /var/kde-user_name - /var/tmp/kdecache-user_name |

does the file referenced below exist?
QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/saso/.kde4/share/config/activitymanager-pluginsrc |

That warning is mostly harmless and does not impact kactivitymanagerd.
You may want to move away (not delete) KDEHOME/share/apps/kactivitymanagerd, where KDEHOME is .kde4 or .kde and see if the problem persists. Also, that backtrace misses debug symbols, can you try installing them and regenerate it?

How can i install debug symbols? EDIT: Actually i have found out that archlinux distribution doesn't compile packages with debug symbols and my laptop is too slow to recompile qt4, kdebase-workspace and kdelibs. Anyway, KDE 4.10.3 version will soon hit arch repositories and i will report if the problem has gone away. Thanks for all the help. |

might be a package issue where one was not updated to match to others, maybe kdebase-workspace (found a report Google'ing where this was the cause on an Arch install)

you can search existing bugs and confirm the primary one (the one others are marked as duplicates of), a quick look doesn't appear that they're recent nor resolved which would indicate not an issue seen currently by others https://www.google.com/search?client=op ... 54&bih=995
