I'm running kubuntu 13.04 on a Dell M50. The problem occurs under an instance of vncserver, but not in the main console. If for example a konsole is opened (again in a vncserver instance) and I try to minimize, maximize or close the window the pointer does not execute neither of these actions. Furthermore, the pointer shows a strange icon that is a double horizontal arrow, that depends where on the screen I land it. However typing works, in fact I can execute "metacity --replace" in a konsole and then get the pointers to work.

I'll appreciate any help.

Can you please verify that KWin is running, and that compositing is disabled?
