Panel shadow is huge, space around notification on the panel is also huge (there is no spacers there) and so it is around folder view plasmoid (didn't showed). I can't change activites. The situation here is quite bit of disaster I would say.

I want to nuke those config files but I can't seem to find all of them. Help, please?

I managed to get rid of the Activities problem, but some applets still takes to much space on the panel.

Which applets are taking too much space on the panel? The ones shipped as part of KDE should only take normal amounts of space.
If you don't mind, you could also try removing your panel and adding a new "Default" one back in it's place.
