I'm looking for information about using xplanet as my background wallpaper. I have done this for years under previous versions of KDE, but it seems KDE4 has either hidden the configuration for it or eliminated it completely.
How can I do this? If I can't do it now, will I be able to do it soon in a subsequent version? Thanks. Mark

If someone implements XPlanet support as a Plasma background, then you will be able to use it. I believe there is currently a Marble background already in playground that may be able to replicate its functionality ( note that it requires 4.2 )

Success! Thanks to http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.p ... =3104418.0 I have implemented my beloved Xplanet wallpaper under KDE4.2 on Mandriva 2010.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/13/1345258/snapshot_2010.png It's not as elegant as the old configuration, but it works just as well. I am a pretty happy camper with KDE4.2. ![]() Mark
